I am huge fan of G, and always have been. But it worries me slightly to see them now starting to chase the innovations and ideas of other search site (ie - Bing). First the new search results page which looks a lot like Bing, and now allowing folks to customize their background image.

I personally don't care to add yet another background image to my desktop on a page I use all day, so I'm glad they don't put one up by default.

I guess their solution is the most user-friendly... if you like that kind of stuff, you can customize it, if you don't, you can leave it. I just noticed it for the first time today.
