Net revenue, which excludes commissions paid to advertising partners, was $4.38 billion, up 8 percent, from $4.04 billion...
In a statement, Google’s chief executive, Eric E. Schmidt, said the company had strong quarter.
"While there is a lot of uncertainty about the pace of economic recovery," Mr. Schmidt said, "we believe the worst of the recession is behind us and now feel confident about investing heavily in our future."

Boiling it down to my own situation. The Third Qtr. showed improvement over last year as far as the total earnings and all other indicators.
However, when you look at the Revenue Paid per Click it is still in the negative area compared to LY.
Page impressions UP 25.09%
Clicks up 137.47%
Page CTR up 89.85%
Page eCPM up 45.56%
Earnings up 82.08%
BUT!
$Average Revenue Paid per Click is -23.33% compared to Third Qtr. LY

October is getting even better, and is running only -14% to last October.
Perhaps he is right and the worst is behind us.

I believe this was predicted. Those who read the thread hopefully got some stock at the time. :)

I'm sure this has a lot to do with their ads moving closer to search results. I think that they have hit a pretty good balance but I would like to see them try to limit sites that make adwords their prime content. I'm sure it makes them money but it might hurt the Google adwords brand.

I agree. Reading this forum is what made me excited to buy Google stock back when it went IPO. Just wished I would have bought more.
