Google Calendar Sync, a 2-way synching application between Google Calendar and the calendar in Microsoft Outlook.
When I add an event to the Outlook calendar on my laptop, Google Calendar Sync syncs it to my Google Calendar -- and since I also have Google Calendar Sync running on my desktop, the event then syncs from Google Calendar to Outlook calendar on my desktop.

Try MS Exchange.

Only if you have $699 + $67 per client. Plus someone to manage it for you, plus someone to read, understand and manage all your licenses. Then add the forced upgrade each time your version is obsoleted. Oh, and the base Windows server license and CAL's, and then the client Windows licenses and Office licenses. It adds up to big bucks.

Google services are either free or licensed under much better terms than the equivalent MS software.

Some businesses will need exchange, but for most small businesses it is overkill and unnecessary lock-in.

Mikedee, you can always use a hosted exchange option. I pay 9.99 a month per employee and get outlook for free. It is managed for me and very little work is required on my end.

Either way, Exchange is over twice the price of Google services.

The comparison is roughly this

Google = $50 per user/year
Microsoft = $119.88 per user/year

It's a bit borked for me. I can't get a complete sync and there are no errors presented so I can't troubleshoot. There are a lot of complaints in the Google help forums and no answers from Google. Some people are warning that you may want to wait before trying this.

The sync offered is very limited. You can only sync your primary Outlook calendar with your primary Google calendar. You can't choose from other calendars. Also it only seems to sync Events, and not Appointments. For me this makes this Google solution almost unusable. There are many 3rd party offerings out there that have more features.
