Google Acquires PeakStream

Google has acquired PeakStream, a start-up selling tools for writing software that can take advantage of multicore processors as well as graphics and gaming chips, according to published reports.
Newer computers contain advanced processors, but it's often a challenge to write software that can unlock that power. PeakStream and competitor RapidMind are working just that problem.

Wow! Its amazing how many acquisitions taking place. That makes ten (10) so far this year (that I have information on).

Peakstream had some tools to fast track programming in a symetrical processing environment.

cell processors specifically.

Big stuff if you can replace 16 racks with one.
