( One ( I ) would have thought, that a 46th President..would have a 46th Vice President ..but there is much illogical / confusing / strange ( electoral college being more important than the actual voting numbers for each candidate(s) ) about US elections )

some presidents ran for more than one term and got reelected with another vice president.
grover cleveland was 22nd president with one vice president and was defeated after one term.
he ran again and became 24th president with another vice president.

for example, richard nixon's vice president spiro agnew resigned and gerald ford was appointed to replace him.
ford became the first unelected president after nixon's resignation and sitting new york state governor nelson rockefeller resigned and was appointed vice president.

It would admittedly be more fun if there had been, in total, fewer vice presidents than presidents. I suppose it could happen on the State level, when governor and lieutenant governor are separately elected. “Nah, I’m good where I am, let someone else do the hard part.”

what i meant to convey was while biden will be the 46th president he will only be the 41st president-elect.
tyler, fillmore, andrew johnson, arthur, and ford were all VPs that completed an elected president's term.

will that make Biden the 46th President and 46th VP?
