I can already see an impact on traffic as people de-socialize in person and stay home more often. They surf the web more and shop online more.

It's not going to be surprising when a mini baby boom of sorts begins to unfold by this time next year especially with sports being off the table.

Dare I say it, will this be called the Coronial generation?

Stay safe everyone, keep your chins up and sense of humor on even in challenging times.

If history has any value to predict the future, I would expect the baby boom to start nine months after the pandemic has ended, just as with the second world war. People are hesitant to make life-changing decisions in a period of uncertainty.

When it happens, I will remember you as being the first to pinpoint the term Coronials though :)

Will there be a next gen?

After all, we have been assured the world will end in 10 years.

Wash your hands ... and check your thermometers!

Yes, we have been assured the world will end in 10 years if we don't give politicians zillions of dollars we don't even have now BUT that can't be accurate.

If it was then "generation Coronials" could never become the "Quaranteens" 13 years from now !

p.s. I'm not being insensitive here, keeping a light humor about things in hard times is good for the soul.

Stay positive folks.

Wait! Who's "we"?
Exercising heroic self-control, not2easy stops herself from saying “Who you calling ‘we’, white man?”

I am on this planet today because the king of {country} died, so all the restaurants and theatres were closed and there was nothing to do. At least, that’s what I was told in my youth, and when I finally worked up the nerve to look it up, the dates checked out.

(Is it PC to quote Tonto?)

When everything is overly political the level of PC becomes toxic. Quote whom you wish I say!

Ha ha! Always comes back to race these days! :)

We could learn from the virus, it doesn't care about race, is it better than us?! (light humor)

Protect your old folks, folks.

Protect your old folks

Old folks don't need protecting.
If we don't die today we can die tomorrow.

Works OK for me. ;)

Protect your old folks
Whether they want to be protected or not, because capacity for independent judgment disappears when you hit age 60? Yesterday I heard from a friend who sadly had to waste a great deal of time explaining to her son (who lives at the other end of the country in a MUCH more densely populated area) that no, she is not going to postpone her scheduled hip replacement--without which she is quite likely to end up wheelchair-bound. COVID-19 [xkcd.com] is one thing, but it is not the only thing.

(note: I am in bad mood)

I am unsure. At the difference of WWII (for example), today, you have all kind of birth control methods, from condoms, to pills. Today, people can have "fun" , without necessarily having babies. Also, I believe that a lot of potential parents are "planning" having kids. And do this only when certain conditions are matching. Today, if you are unsure of the future, most people will not try to have kids. Even "after" the covid-19, lot of things are still unsure about the future, including the global warming and its consequences. The economy, etc.. also, after the covid-19 you'll have, one day or another new virus.

Protect old folks, from young folks. Get a video chat program, stay in touch online, just don't go give hugs and kisses right now. That's all I meant.

Dmitri I get it but a good number of pregnancies are unplanned and more have to be expected with weeks out of work and no place to go. Married couples don't always plan more kids, sometimes they are a welcome surprise.
