I've seen the shift in other countries, in states here within the U.S., and now it's starting to happen to the U.S. as a whole. The number of people giving up their U.S. citizenship is growing, by about 20% a year now. People of means no longer have to grin and bear it, they can simply leave.

Many people want something for nothing but someone has to pay for that and when then payors get fed up enough and leave what are you going to have left? Those in Greece can probably answer that question best.

The U.S. has quintupled the amount it charges for renunciations and still the numbers leaving keep growing.
