Small groups? It's the quality that counts. Sometimes you just have to grin an bear it.

I don't doubt this will be reported more widely because it's a Google Executive. I toned down the sensationalist headline.

According to eyewitnesses, Google product strategist Scott Jenson angrily stormed out of a conference in San Francisco Tuesday, 30 minutes before he was scheduled to deliver a keynote address—a week after inviting himself onto the program via Twitter.

Seriously though, these product "strategists" and other true believers scare me. They only seem more clueful because others have not learned how little they really know. Well at least it wasn't more waffle about Google's "Knowledge Graph" Wikipedia scraper.

These numpties tend to be like that whatever the company. I blame the clueless "technology" churnalists (press release recyclers). Since the churnalists haven't much of a clue about technology, they consider these people to be important because they turn up at so many events and seminars. The real reason is that they are sent to these events and seminars because they are so utterly useless at anything other than PR. (Cynical ex-editor mode.) They are the equivalent of a court astrologer and just as reliable at predicting future trends. :)

Churnalism is not restricted to technology... its pretty bad in business and science as well, and probably more.
