At least one of those is me.

Downloads does not equal user numbers.

I would have though Libre Office is much more popular by now: it has a at least a few tens of millions of users just because it is the default for most recent versions of most Linux distros (and Linux users of any application are usually not counted at all by counting downloads).

I much prefer using OO to that clunky neon thingy for Mac.

But why OO rather than LibreOffice for Mac? The only difference (unless there is something Mac specific I do not know about) is that the LIbreOffice fork is more actively developed these days.

OO or LO? Its not which is better it is which is better known.
