I'm inclined to agree, J_RaD.

I noticed a fellow passenger on a flight as he constantly, and I mean, constantly, accessed his Blackberry to read and reply to messages. No, he was not playing games, they were messages. The only time he stopped was when the phone wouldn't sit on the seat table at the same time as the meal came round. We're talking cattle class, here, so there's not a great deal of space, even for a smartphone.

I got the impression he'd have to be surgically removed from his phone.

Maybe they will be so wrapped up in playing with their devices that they will neglect to leap from their seats and start pulling down their luggage from the overhead bins the instant the wheels touch the runway.

Then again, maybe they will be so wrapped up in playing with their devices that all luggage-related activity will have to be done one-handed, and someone's suitcase will hit you in the eye.

I was going to ask if he also took the phone with him into the bathroom, but then realized that there isn't much alternative.
