Adhering strictly to the topic of presidential parenting:

A year or two back, Paul McCartney-- Sir Paul, if you insist-- played the White House. I caught a bit of it on PBS. By and by the singer launched into Michelle, ma belle etc and the cameras zoom in on the president leaning over his wife singing the lyrics into her ear. And then pan to daughters smiling pleasantly. I remember being phenomenally impressed. These girls are, what, around 12 years old? So inwardly they had to be thinking along the lines of

Daa-ad. You. Are. Embarrassing. Us. In. Front. Of. The. Entire. Planet.

but it didn't show in their faces.

When I detoured to check whether I'd previously posted this bit of trivia, I came across this utterly unrelated but entertaining thread [webmasterworld.com] elsewhere in Foo.

Mmm, not so sure about that. You and grandma can get the same tattoo and then join in sneering at the intervening generation.

Tasefull, artful tattoos are one thing.. I've dated enough women with them.. What gets me though, are the tatoos where it looks like someone found the drunkest, highest 'artist' they could find and said "Scribble some &stuff on me"
