Police say McLean told them he had just bought the donut while in Thorntons, but the officer spoke with the store clerk who allegedly told police, "she had not sold any pastries."
The donut was "not recoverable" according to police.
I wonder if he was advised of his miranda warnings.

Darn. I was hoping it meant he'd already eaten it. But there's a difference between finding a gold necklace in someone's pocket and returning it to the owner, and finding something edible in the same location. Er, no, thanks all the same, I'll take the loss.
