So basically it does nothing. In 2008 I find it hard to believe that everyone involved is so tech ignorant that the ease of getting a new email address never came up.

the intention of this is .IMO.just to be another sound bite and then to allow business as usual on all of the "cindy 12 year old model" sites hosted in the US with all of the ( paraphrased) "all of our models , despite appearances are really over 18 years old" etc etc ..

and search engines ( yes looking at you google ) which accept ads for kiidypron ( even when they later drop them ..they above all people had the means to filter the ads at the outset ..but didn't in the name of traffic and profit )..and then censure sites with beach scenes that have topless bathers in the name of "safe search"..

want to stop kiidypron on the net ..google ? ms nd Y have the technology now ..they could crunch their index's in 24 hours for all associated words in all languages and just dump all pages from the indexes after turning all the hosting server IP's over to the FBI ..they dont ..because that would really rock some boats ..

Could they not come up with a better way of tracking them like for example make them HAVE to use a certain IP address all the time. I don't know maybe track where they live and then make them only have access to one IP which they can monitor?

No its not that secure either, a drive around looking for free net access etc however I think that would be a lot better than tracking an mmail address? No?

If you give someone an email address without charging and establishing a financial trail, you are aiding and abetting online predators. Those who defend Y!, Hotmail and Gmail being free are clearly perverted child molesters.

I like IP limits more than email limits. Fixed IP for all offenders and hefty penalty if found using any other connection.

As far as the law goes it's just another notch in the belt of the politician who sponsored it so he/she proclaim I'm the protector of children when it really does nothing to address the issue. IMO actually does more harm than good as it may give parents a false sense of security when the danger is still very real.

A majority is usually a close family member or a close acquaintance of the family.

The only way I know to keep kid preds off the net is to whack off their fingers so they can't type. Appears we can't whack off the offending member...or keep them behind bars, or deal with them in a final fashion.

These bozos continue to legislate some of the strangest non-enforcable laws just so they can add large penalties, and think they did something good.

I don't condone vigilante justice, but with this particular breed of vermin I'm not sure what really works.

In theory thats everyone over 25 , as chances are most people have children no matter what their age. a 70 year old can have a 35 year old child ? tedious but true

Another law with the sole purpose of giving politicians the possibility to say: "We passed a law." when asked by a talkshow host what he has done against a perceived problem. Passing a law like this does not cost much and is a cheap way of pretending to have done something.
