Meta has rolled out paid verification for Facebook and Instagram in the U.S.A. and it's called Meta Verification you get a blue verification badge, proactive impersonation protections, and direct access to customer support. It'll cost you $11.99 per month for the web and $14.99 per month for mobile devices.

You can join the waitlist for Meta Verified at [meta.com...] In addition to paying the fee, you’ll need to be 18 years or older, submit a photo of your ID to Meta, meet Meta’s minimum activity requirements, and have two-factor authentication enabled. Once you’re verified, you can’t change your username, profile name, date of birth, or photo unless you go through verification again.

At those rates FB can quickly backfill some advertising losses in 2022!

And at the same time test the waters for the "serious" users.

Between phone, internet(isp), subscription video, paywalls, this is yet another method for tech/communications to grease the income stream---and not really add anything new.

Meta is now rolling out paid verification in the UK, following earlier roll-outs to US, Australia and New Zealand.

This is certainly one way to get your personal information confirmed, and you pay for it, too! :)
