Domain renewal coupon codes?

Curious about domain coupons in general

Every time I have a domain up for renewal I remember to do a google search for domain renewal coupon codes but never find any. I see lots of codes for hosting and email and other registrar services, but not for renewal. I'm curious as to why these codes exist in the first place, and the nature of the ecosystem that makes them available. Are there ways (better ways) to pay less for domain renewals? In my case, the registrar in question is Namecheap.

Most times domain renewals are "discounted" over the term of renewal ... the longer the period, the greater the "discount".

I usually do it for 5 year periods on ACTIVE and FULLY FUNCTIONAL sites. The speculation domains are yearly since they are subject to be dropped/ignored as time progresses.

It all depends on how deep are the webmaster/company pockets. :)

Yea, but I'm talking about discount codes that you can enter on the form you fill out to renew / add years to your domain registration. I was renewing a .pw domain and namecheap was giving the same price (about $10 / year) regardless if I selected 1 or 2 or 3 year renewal. In other words, I think I used to see a break on the cost-per-year for a 3 or 5 year vs 1 year, but I don't see that any more. Or at least I don't see it on namecheap but maybe it was netsol where I used to see it.
