Choosing primary domain with "mag" or "magazine"

Trying to determine whether to use abreviation as primary domain

Very interested in everyone's opinion on this issue...

I have two domains, and must decide which one would be more appropriate both in SEO and marketing standpoints to make as the primary domain.

widgetmag.com
widgetmagazine.com

I am leaning towards "mag" rather than "magazine", but there may be advantages of the other that I am unaware of.

When everything else is equal, shorter names are better.

I'm with callivert. I don't think any meaning is lost with the shorter version, and essentially you're talking about "brand" traffic, which you should be able to acquire with ease; so I don't think keyword targeting is a major issue.

Hmmm...I'm going to say the opposite, I feel widgetmagazine.com looks more professional plus you will get the extra SEO boost with the word "magazine" as solely opposed to "mag".

If you've got "the real thing" - (Subject)Magazine.com - then use it.

Redirect the abbreviation for those for whom typing an xtra 5 ltrs is 2 mch 2 ask 4. :P
