Hi,

Sorry for the odd/dumb question. I handle a lot of MySql based web sites. Some Wordpress ones and some other custom made for me.

I regularly need to access certain data from different sites and need to create new admin interfaces, or change the existing ones.

That slows things a lot. PhpMyAdmin isn't a solution. Hiring a programmer requires to have a plan. I can edit PHP, but since I'm not a programmer it takes me a lot of time to understad everything, not to mention that I would never be able to create an admin console.

Is there any MySql admin builder or something like that? It could be like one of those ajax form builders that are around there.

I simply couldn't find one, but mainly because I don't have a clue of the correct search term.

Not a dumb question at all, it'd be interesting to see if such scripts exist. I do find myself repeating a few things such as form creation, form validation etc...

If you do contract out a custom solution...data manipulation in MySQL can be broken down quite easily, namely the adding, editing and the deletion of data. A lot of an 'admin area' can be normalised so that unique pages are mostly just unique SQL statements carrying out a desired task, with a GUI form and some data validation for your SQL fields.

I imagine you won't need a coder for your wordpress related sites as there are a ton of add-ons for it already.

Thanks brotherhood of LAN. Yes, there are a lot of wordpress add-ons for sure. But I need to manage every database I have in a custom way. I need to mix posts from one database to another. I need to add features to my existing non wordpress database administrator. In fact, I need some kind of form builder that let's me take info from any database I own, edit it, schedule it, etc, and send it back to the same database or to a different one.
All form builders I saw, simply write the input of a user.

it does, i have used a program called appgini from time to time.

it is not free, however you can build admin areas in a snap, like anything it takes a little while to work out how to use it but once you get the hang of it, it's great.

there are a couple of limitations that i found last time i used it (i noticed it's been updated since, so they may have ironed these out) ...
tables all need a primary key field (they should have anyway)
and
it stumbles on many-to-many relatioships (but most people don't use these anyway - it's where a particular sub-category can belong to multiple upstream categories for instance), but you could always hand code that bit anyway

i'm unconnected with the makers of this software, just a satisfied customer.

Thanks topr8, I will take a look right now. I also found phpdatagrid from apphp. It seems that I will have to take a look at those ajax datagrid scripts. I don't know what a datagrid is, but the examples on the phpdatagrid site show something very close to what I'm looking.
