Really simple web-based DB front end. Suggestions?

Sort of like a CMS, only simpler.

I've put together a small and simple site for small charities in a certain area to list their details and announce any news.

Don't laugh, but at the moment, I just go into PxpMyAdmxn and edit the rows. However, at some point, some of these charities are going to be editing their own details and a very simple web interface is preferred. Just editable boxes, populated with the current details, and an "update" button. And the details for whichever charity has logged in should be available, but I should be able to login and pick anyone to update.

I'm sure there'll be 101 suggestions of "Why didn't you use x or y app (eg W#*$!Pr#*$!) instead", well, trust me, there's good reasons!

I've looked at things like WxCMS, which appears to be superseded by CxmbioCMS, which isn't ready yet, and other CMS cost a fortune. Bear in mind I'm doing this for free, and I'm not very skilled in the php and mysql line of things, I'd like to keep it really simple. My host runs PxP5 and MySxL5.

*I'd love to be able to show you a link, but everytime I put any kind of helpful link, mention a third party app, or indeed anything roughly resembling a proper noun, it gets deleted (hence the Xs). Sorry, that's just how it is here.

Wow! The no name policy is even tougher than I thought! I mentioned a popular blogging tool, and even though I replaced most of it with X, it's munged it even further! I'm sure you can work out the one I mean...

There is a large collection of open source CMS's on the net. It's not that hard to find, but there are some lightweight ones out there that may suit you - I steer clear of most because they're so darned bloated.

<OT>Hahaha . . . not laughing at you, laughing with you . . . it was nixed for reasons you don't suspect, I think. you most likely entered the rating version for an uber adult movie, three x's in a row get munged like #*$!. :-)

The TOS is not all that strict, but it is fickle in practice. In theory it's fair enough, crafty posters can sneak in a link to their site in passing, and it doesn't matter the reason why, it's just how it is. I say fickle because a discussion came up last week that involved possibly one of the largest selling marketplaces on the 'net, named after tall strong women, and the first mention of it came from a mod. :-) It was later edited, which I don't understand, because it really is an authority site. So in a way, it's like understanding women - and like understanding women, you just get used to it.</OT>

A simple form and an insert/update script is possible without install any kind of CMS, but you'll want to take every precaution to sanitize all inputs (ie. test for what you expect and reject everything else).
