how many tables per database

what creates more lag time tabes/dbs?

Hello,

I have 3 mysql databases with tables in each 9, 3 and 5. What bogs down the server more... more tables or more databases?

Any hints will be appreciated.

At what point should you split your tables into multiple mysql databases?
