I have recently purchased a domain that has 7 wordpress installations in sub-directories.

My knowledge is very poor in this area and I thought that I will get one simple .sql file for each blog that I will be able to import into a new database.

A mysql database backup in Yahoo hosting creates a folder (one each for a blog) with dozens of files and I don't see a .sql file.

Could someone please help? I can no longer access the blogs in a browser since the settings are now changed to GoDaddy servers but I do have access to the Yahoo hosting account where all the files are.

The backup that your host provides should be suitable for restoring somewhere else. If you could still access the site from the browser, I'd say the blogging software you are using probably has a backup feature as well.

Here are the steps they give you to backup, not sure if that is what you did or not: [help.yahoo.com...]

From GoDaddy on restoring database from backups: [help.godaddy.com...]

See what you can do.
