hi all when i download my db from the web server, tables wont open locallly it comes up with error 'unrecognized database format' does it have to do with data being entered into it?

its an access db 2003, i have re downloaded it and run a repair and compact and have atable called MSysCompactError and have these charctors in it ¨Æ ÅÊ ”g any ideas?

once i investigated a little further it appears the incorrect charactors were to blame so ive tightend it right up
