we are upgrading our existing remote server with a new setup. The specs are win 2k server,4gb ram and 3.2 Ghz with sql server 2k standard edition.
I read from the microsoft website sql server supports 2gb ram..Is it ok to have sql server for the above mentioned config

Sure, SQL Server 2000 will run great under that configuration. The 2GB limitation is per instance of SQL Server. You could run multiple instances if you wanted to capitalize on the other 2GB of memory.
