I run a small business selling and hiring out walkie-talkie radio equipment.

I have two main web sites that rank pretty well in Google.

I made these in Xsite Pro.

This is still basically fine, except that it is no longer being developed, and so I am looking for a similar alternative that works in the same basic way - that is, lets me update the sites on my PC and then generates HTML pages and uploads them to the actual site.

I want a CMS like Xsite Pro that does stuff for mobile and touch screen devices, and that can make sites that look a bit more modern.

I am hoping that some users of this forum might be able to help me choose a new CMS.

I do not want to change to Wordpress or anything else that has a database on the web server though.

I would like to find something witgh a similar method of operation to Xsite Pro if possible - I am sure there must be something out there?

All hints and suggestions very gratefully received!

Hi Kingsgate. Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

You might want to start by having a look at this thread: [webmasterworld.com...]

Otherwise, I guess the default answer would be Dreamweaver.

Like XSite pro, though, I would not call it a CMS so much as a site building tool.

Except that you have to create your own templates to use it, WebMerge does offer that ability. You update your inventory as a flat file and process it on your desktop, the pages can be manually uploaded or ftp'd on the fly. It works kind of like a specialized word processor, takes like 2 seconds to process a large file after you have your templates ready.
