UK Copyright Protection Disappearing?

According to this article in the Register

the new Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act has just received Royal Assent in the UK, which radically changes the copyright protection available to UK content creators who publish their work online.

The article seems a bit of a one-sided rant - so I think I need to find out a bit more before drawing conclusions.

Anyone know anything about this? Any thoughts?
