Does TripAdvisor own user submitted photos?

Hi - Can I legally use some photos submitted by users to TripAdvisor on my own site?

Their terms page is a little unclear on this: [tripadvisor.com...]

I wouldn't be hotlinking, but downloading the pic and hosting it on my own site.

Do sites like these "own" the pictures submitted by users? Can I get in trouble for putting one of these pics on my site?

All images are subject to copyright so no, you cannot use them legally. You could contact the people who submitted the images and ask if you can use them.
