Oracle Awarded $1.3 Billion in copyright case against SAP

Oracle Corp. won a $1.3 billion jury verdict against rival SAP AG, the world’s largest maker of business application software, for copyright infringement by a now-defunct software maintenance unit.


This is the largest judgment ever for a copyright infringement case and the largest jury award of 2010 in the USA.

1.3 billion is equal to SAP's revenue for this forth quarter so they can afford it but OUCH.
