Lots of sites have been appearing with urls like:

http://example.com/randomletters/morerandomletters.php?blue-widgets

The blue widgets page will contain one of two lines from my site on blue widgets, with a url in plain text.

Then will come a snippet from another site, with their url in plain text.

etc.

The first snippet and url are in bold.

The main site (http://example.com/) is usually perfectly legitimate, and unrelated.

The snippets are usually short and may well be fair use.

Each of these sites has thousands of pages of snippets, but only one snippet from most sites, but tens from big sites such as answers.com.

The pages with the scraped content have no links, not even to the home page.

Is this new? What are they geting from it given the link juice is not being passed anywhere?
