why?

If you have nothing to say, do not say it. Why do you have a website in the first place, if you have no original content for it?

I always hated those that take what's not theirs and just start rewriting, spinning etc. That's not fair mates..

Content is not something to be added as if it were salt or sugar.

I think there are legitimate reasons to re-writing content and using it on your site. For example, I started a US website for legal topics aimed at Hispanics in the US with topics written in Spanish; essentially a niche for lawyers who practice in areas heavily populated by Hispanics. Add to that the fact that many of these lawyers don't speak Spanish but do have staff that does, and getting content is hard.

My solution? Offer to translate blog or article content on their website and post as articles with their byline and links to their site.

I also use private label articles on legal topics, which I re-write as needed, translate and upload as my own, essentially creating new content.

However, I would agree that just collecting "content" and re-posting is not useful to visitors.

Well, if you really want some good articles and topics at your site, make sure you get nice writers or have topics which will attract readers. The best way is add wordpress to your site, so that you, as well as others can make better use of it and enjoy your penning.
