Content at the very bottom of the page

I work in the floral industry and have noticed that some of my competitors (pro flowers) are taking a portion at the bottom of each page and writing about three keyword loaded paragraphs.

My question, is this common tactic used when you have about three product rows on each paragraph.

Thoughts/Recomendations?

I believe so, but it does not have the punch it used to have. Think of an hour glass in terms of keyword density from top to bottom of a page.

It's absolutely a common tactic.
