Advice wanted on how much content to start with

Seeking advice from all the SEO experts out there

I am helping build a new website that will contain approx 50 pages of content at the outset. Additional pages will be added on top of the initial 50 - but I would expect only 2-4 articles to be added monthly after the site roll-out.

Question: From an SEO perspective - does it make sense to roll out the web site with a smaller number of pages, say 30 pages, then gradually add the remaining 20. Do the search engines like to see lots of content added - or is it OK to start off with a relatively sizeable amount of content - then add content but on a reduced scale. Does it even matter?

I would say go wth the 50 pages at the outset and get them working for you. Google does not consider 50 page websites to be large.

Main goal is not to make as large as possible NUMBER of pages.
Final goal is to have content that brings people to action.
Example: You can decide for 150 pages. But google will bring you only targeted vistiors if you manage correct content. It's simple as that. Try to define your purpose not numbers.

I would suggest to launch the site with as much content you are ready with and can keep on adding gradually. This would help it getting indexed by Google earlier and will help in SERPS as new content is added/indexed.
