We request that all of our affiliate sites implement ‘no index tags’ on property description pages provided by us as they duplicate our description pages. One company has come back and said that they don’t want to do this but their solution was to use a ‘blockquote cite’ tag which would apply to the descriptions themselves but not the entire page. So their requirements were:

• Place partner content within a 'blockquote cite' tag.
• Example: <blockquote cite="url of page that content is taken from" class="blockquote">#*$! hotel review text</blockquote>

Would this avoid any duplicate content penalties?
