Best Format for eBooks

I am putting together some basic eBooks on a topic, but I wasn't sure what the best format was for these was. I am not really looking at making a killing with them, but I don't necessarily want to get screwed out of money I could be making as well.

I read a few other forums on the topic and they said the problem with doing them in a program like Adobe Acrobat is that someone can purchase the book on a credit card and 5 minutes after they buy it request a refund or dispute the charge on their CC and get their money back, but obviously they still have the book.

I have heard there is some software out there that will generate an eBook with a serial number and if someone requests a refund or disputes the charge that you can just enter in their serial number and it essentially shuts off their ebook and keeps if from working.

For others that sell info on the web what are your thoughts on this and any recommendations or advice you would offer would be greatly appreciated.

In etexts? Forget it unless you put DRM into the equation. In reality there are more honest people out there than dishonest people. Offer a good product, get what you can, and write off the rest. (Been there, done that, still doing it)
