Seems many running adsense on their sites are loosing links from wikipedia. They are even labeled as spammers by wikipedia (regardless of who added the links in the first place).

Still where those sites once were referenced as source, the material is now not referencing a source anymore just because the website runs adsense?

Anyway, I'm removing any and all reference to wikipedia, I've had enough of the zealots.

Wikipedia = the next ODP

I've read about "edit wars" between self-appointed Wikipedia editors and those trying to correct facts presented in an article. Pretty much reminds me of the situation with ODP where some volunteer ODP editor would just "sit" on a section of the ODP and just not allow any new sites in.

Then I've seen some empty Wikipedia pages that JUST contain the keyword but no content whatsoever. Even those pages still rank high in Google.

Having said that, I have never linked to Wikipedia. The information mix is usually not right for my visitors, and there is no point in being the ump-teenths site to link to that Wikipedia article.

Also, I just wait for the day they put up ads or get otherwise commercial.

Funny, a few years ago I corrected some information on a coal article that was wrong... not that I would know about it being that my family was in the business for nearly a century... anyhow someone reverted the edits as irrelvant and a link I added to my site. It was business site but the page I linked too had more information than the article itself. The edits they reverted had to do with some sizing and other minor things, still wrong now. LOL

That was the first and last contribution to wikipedia I made.

Is it possible that you meant to say Pastiche instead of Plagiarism? ;)
