Russians Jacking My Tutorials

I own a photoshop tutorial site and I pay my writers a pretty penny for writing quality tutorials....I was just reviewing my web logs and found two sites that have translated one of my tutorials to russian and put it own their own web site. Is there anything I can do in a situation like this? I'm Russian myself and I already registered mydomain.ru and was going to translate my tutorials and make a copy for the russian community, but know I just don't know if its going to be worth it at all if those shmucks keep blatantly copying my content.

Unless you are willing to spend a fortune on legal action the normal course of action would be to ask them to remove the material. If they refuse to do so you could try talking to their hosting company and/or Google.

Google will act on cases like this. See [google.com...]

(I don't know how much more complex the translation issues will make the process.)

Will not it be duplicate content? If not then can I translate all my content into all other languages and publish myself.

I wouldn't worry about it...how many hits are these sites getting? Usually people that copy don't last very long.

But either way, send them an email and their host an email so it's recorded that they copied you.

Really, I didn't knew that.

So I can register a .cn or ru site in my niche and use google/babble fish translate program to translate and publish it on my .cn /.ru site?

Then how is it different than adding a russion/chinese translate button from my original site.

I guess I am confused now.

Syz. that's an entirely different issue. Maybe I'm wrong, but my understanding is that to assess what is duplicate content, the Google program compares the text of the two pages. Pages in two different languages by definition do NOT have the same text!

But, if someone translates a page without permission, and posts their translation, then that translation is a copyright infringement and could be handled as such via DMCA (there may be complications with two languages involved, of course. I don't know.)

kool, what are you confused about? The difference between posting a translation and putting on a translate button would be that if you posted a translation the translation could get indexed in the relevant search engines, but that wouldn't happen with a button....

so you are saying that whatever content I have in one language I can create transalation of that content and post it on a new site and it will not be considered as duplicate.
So do I get a new domain for each translation or separate sections in my original content site?
Has anyone tried this?

Indeed. Sorry, thought the OP had subsequently raised the issue of dupe content, when the matter of theft of intellectual property was much more important! I see now that it wasn't the OP...

kool, that's right, it will not be considered duplicate.

I would think a new domain, with the right country extension, might be better than a subsection of your site. But I don't know.

tell them that you'll complain to their hosting provider and involve a name of some authority internet site that will go after them.
