How much content and how often to add

Out of curiosity, we are currently looking to hire some content writers for our site and wanted to know how many articles some of you are adding at one time on your site and how often?

I am under the impression that adding 100's of articles at once would not be fruitful as far as SEO goes.

Thoughts?

It's usually reckoned that a steady stream of new stuff is better than adding large amounts at one time - but I've seen any evidence to support that Google has a 'problem' with a large batch.

Unless of course the batch swamped what went bfore, in which case there's a risk the site will be seen as 'new' and 'sandbox' theories come into play.

Google may get slight indigestion at large amounts, but with the aid of good navigation and site map, I doubt it will e long term.

I know from experience that when rebuilding a site, incremental is much better than 'all at once'.
