I'm looking for some infomation about putting other companies logo's on my site. Can i even do this? Im already linking to there site, do i have to put one of those logo disclaimer's, all logo's are property of there respected owners all rights reserved or something on the lines of that. I run a Car service website, and winter is coming around so i created another 18 pages of all the resorts we have in my state, i wrote a little bit about them and linked to thhere site from the correct resort page, I wanted to put there company/mountain logo on that page on my site just for a bit more atractive looking page.

Ask them for permission - They may be glad to let you do it if you're sending them business. Putting a disclaimer on a page doesn't give you the right to use someone else's trademark without permission. Some companies have specific rules about how their logos should be used; if a company gives you permission to use theirs, they should pass those rules along to you, too.

Agreed, get permission if you possibly can. Don't use it otherwise - perhaps ask for a picture of their resort while you're at it since it's a resource for your customers - to become their potential customers - mutual interest.. in keeping business around.

Or ask a lawyer about it - but that can be pretty expensive in the U.S - or so i've heard. Have fun, and good luck anyways.

we all agree on the asking permission thing. Just write them a polite e-mail and see how it goes from there.

I guess sending a letter to a giant company will be ignored. I would just use it until they came to make a warning.
