Hi all,
I have a small problem and need a little help. I sell this product online and had the company who has a word that is in my title of the product on eBay email me and say we can't use that word in the listing since they have the trademark of that word.

My question, I did search and see that they have trademarked the word Frisbee but... Can i put the word Frisbee-like ?

Will that make me clear of any problems? I mean Frisbee-like is a different word that I don't see trademarked. Please help.

Thanks,

It's not a different word.

It's the same word with -like on the end.

Imagine for a second that YOU had trademarked that word, and someone was using it to make money. How would you feel? Wouldn't you try to protect the name you had trademarked and made famous?

So famous, in fact, that people wanted to make money by adding words to it.

Morally, you are on a loser. And legally too. One of those rare occasions when the law is exactly in line with what's 'right'!

trademark violation is a nightmare when it comes to ebay . i tried to list item a well known item from which i brought it from them , but trying to list it jeeez ebay says its been removed for trademark violation and yet if you type in this word in ebay search it comes up with lots using the name and selling so i ask ebay what is the difference between what i,m trying to sell and all the others and they cannot or will not answer me , these other ebayers have what i have mine no fake or anything like that they describe it in big bold companys name wich ebay is telling just me its a trademark violation and yet all the other ebayers are ok i just do not understand and its frustrating that ebay cannot answer me . i can only think that ebay has its own select of favorite sellers and wont let others in on a good thing ......any others had same problems? i sent many e-mails trying to find out what i,m doing wrong but the thing is i dont see any difference . WHAT A NIGHTMARE EBAY IS BECOMMING

goona07, have you done your homework. Check the mark owner's VeRO page [pages.ebay.com] to see what uses are permitted.

yes i have and also been in touch with company that has trademark an after there e-mail to me i now know all that use this companys trademark are fake due to the massive losses they make when sellimg on ebay because the company says it dont sell there items for them to be sold on . little did i know mine was fake as well reason for getting in touch with them ,you cannot take a fifty percent loss on originals an make a profit , but the main problem was my item and theres were the same they used trademark an so did i only coz i was describing my item like they were but ebay banned my item .you make sense of it coz done my head in :-)
