Name for this type of design?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

What is this type of page design called? Its the sort of thing that's used in magazines.
Usually has a pull quote or image where the A's are and is surrounded by text (1 2)

Is it a two column page/text with a centred quote/call-out/pic..?

Sorry, when I posted it was hard to actually state the question as I had no words to describe what I meant or even start a search.

Thanks to wikipedia, typography, canons of page construction, page layout etc I have some pointers

I was playing with page designs and assumed there must be standard terms for different designs. Are there such things?

and yes two collumns with a pull quote thingymabob.

I'm not aware of any specific names for page layouts beyond the obvious terms of reference used, eg, 2 col, 3 col, 2 col right margin, 2 col centred, etc. Having said that, here's a variation on your example:

This is known as a fireplace layout, where AAAA can be text, an image or, more frequently, an advert. The first version represents a single page. The second shows a two page spread. On its own the two pages together would be better known as a DPS - double page spread.
