If I wrote out some transcripts of interviews I heard/saw on the TV/radio or other media and posted them on my website, would that be legal?

Or would those the TV/radio station hold the copyright to even the written version of those interviews?

I'm not a lawyer, but I would think that your transcript would be a derivative work of their interview. And, for a derivative work, you would need the permission of the copyright holder in order to publish it.

So, without permission, I think you would be violating their copyright if you post your own transcripts.
