I'm trying to train a subcontractor who is a great advertising writer to be a great website writer. I want to suggest some courses he should take or sites he should read in order to learn the best way to write for the web and gain attention from search engines without alienating humans.

Is there anyone who can recommend anything like that?

Thanks!

He may be good at advertising but when it comes to writing materials for the web that are supposed to attract attention and provoke the readers to read, download or buy something then he has to use a totally different technique from the one that he is uses now.

If your friend wants to become a good copywriter then he should definitely join the copywriters board. This is a forum where some of the greatest copywriters are sharing secrets and tips. I have learned a great deal from these guys.

Apart from the Copywriters Board (a great resource, just as dragsterboy noted), your subcontractor may google the phrase The Copywriting Secret - many practical tips, case studies and so on, devoted to copywriting mastery.

Straight to the topic - online writing. Your subcontractor may also search for the Copyblogger - the spot for copywriting tips to help you step closer to marketing success. I strongly recommend it.

One more from me - google the Copiwriting Secret - the slogan goes like this: "The secret on converting prospects into sales" and actually the content there will help you make it possible. Enjoy, everyone.

John, you and I obviously love one and the same resource - the Copywriting Secret ;) No wonder - many writers or just people interested, love it.

Cheers,
