Promoting Contributed Article Submission Opportunity

How do you let people know you take content submissions?

After writing tons of content for my site myself, I finally decided to give others the opportunity to submit content to my site.

I put a link on my left nav to promote this. Just did that this morning.

My question is how else can I promote this? Are there sites for freelance writers where you can get listed as a place that accepts contributed content?

Has anyone had any other great and effective ways to get the word out to let people know they can contribute articles on your site?

Thanks. General advice is appreciated, and if you have some specifics (e.g. specific sites), feel free to sticky me with that.

Placing a "write content/contribute/etc" at the bottom of all main texts/articles/posts should get people to notice.

But of course those will only work if people are interested in writing for the site. IŽd imagine a certan critical mass is needed before that starts happening spontant.

Thanks for the input.

Well, I received the first contributed article.

Grab a few sentences and did Google searches on them.

The article was a poor attempt at plagiarism, grabbing verbatim sentences from other articles.

I rejected the article submission.

Let's hope I eventually get some original content submissions.

I guess sometimes you get what you pay for.
