Hi

i want to ask a general question. If there are two sites A and B... Site A has a very lawful and well written privacy policy and terms of use docs on it.. can owner of Site B copy that text and make changes wherever needed to make the text to work with site B?

can Site A sue site B owner for copying text from their privacy policy and terms of use etc?

thanks

The short answer is "yes, they can."

The best approach in this case would be to contact Site A and ask for permission first.

Yes... unless Site A's privacy policy was created using one of the privay policy generators out there where you can simply put in your information and it spits out a professional looking privacy policy.
That's how we made ours.
Privacy policies have a fairly standard format these days I think. There are a lists of P3P privacy policy guidelines on the w3.org website.
