I'm looking for a way to share a doc file publicly. My business has a template that I put together in Word that I need some customers to edit with their changes and see me back a revised copy of. I've been using Google Docs and I've publicly shared a link to my doc file for others to see. Originally I only gave visitors the ability to view the file which was fine. Then customers kept asking questions like,"what do I put here" or "what do I put there", so I added comments/notes explaining the document. The issue is to show comments, I have to grant permissions to edit the file which causes a huge problem with two people are viewing the document at once and making edits to it! Not only is all of my original work lost but people are filling in personal details on a file that is publicly visible for the world to see!
It would be nice if Google Docs would allow me the ability to share a file publicly with comments but not allow the comments to be edited, file to be edited, etc.
Does anybody know of any other ways to share a Google doc? Has anybody here tried Office365 or other Office document sharing programs? Does it give you more flexible.
