Blog has been all about one subject, but now I'm getting into new area

Ok so I've run a blog, as an extension of my business's website, for over a year now. It has been all about topic A.

Now my business is developing products for topic B, and as such, I want to start blogging about Topic B, which is really not related to Topic A. I want to continue to blog about them both but I don't want to confuse or annoy readers by mixing both topics.

What is the best way to handle this fragmentation? Should I:
a) Keep everything on one blog using Wordpress's categories (problem: the main blog page will be intermixed with Topic A and B)
b) Install new blog software in a different directory on my website, basically keeping both blogs separate
C) Some other solution?

If i were to be in your shoes, I'd most probably go with option (a)

You can always include the topic A & topic B in the main nav bar to let visitors know right off the bat that the site is about both topics.

Additionaly, you can control/choose which posts are shown on the home page by making selected posts as "Featured"

There could be some SEO implications as well. If you are ranking well for "topic a" then muddling the home page and site with "topic b" could hurt. How similar or related are the topics? Both users and SEs might find complementary topics (say, hunting and fishing) useful, but diverse topics (stamp collecting and dog training) confusing.
