I personally like the "Become a fan" lingo. But oh well.

A subtle change, but perhaps a lower threshold for a user action? Less of a "commitment?"

I was never a fan of "Become a Fan" myself, especially when you have members that you barely know asking you to become their fan. Seemed kind of silly to me.

It will be interesting for sure, since so many folks have invested in the "become a fan" terminology. They have custom buttons made, custom instructions/text, links/newsletters, etc all referencing "become a fan". I've seen some companies even put it in their print ads in magazines, etc.
Definitely a lower threshold. We'll all hopefully benefit from it.
