hello everyone,

i want your suggestions. i want to use social networking software developed in php. i want to know your recommendations. the software can be open source or commercial, but off course open source is preferred. Which is the best, feature-rich social networking application?

It depends on what you want to do with this social network. In many cases basic blog or portal CMS packages can accomplish all that you want.

i want to launch a full fledged social networking site. i am web developer and we want to modify it and include few of our features. i want an easily customizable feature rich social networking site some thing similar to facebook or orkut.
does any one have an idea which application suits me better?

we want a web application that allows us to host a social
network on our website, a program that I can install on my own server that would allow people to meet, match
interests, share information, plan meeting and so on e.g. Dolphin, elgg etc. What i want to know is that which is the best open source/commercial web application of such type. and also which is easily customized application.
