Their documentation is...well...lacking. (Or maybe I'm just not all that smart?)
Has anybody here tried it with any success?

What language are you working with?
I've not worked with this api but I just had a look at the PHP client library they provide and it has a folder of examples which may be a good starting point.

I just couldn't get anything to work at all. Perhaps there is documentation for this...but then perhaps an "API" needs no documentation at all? (I'm new to this)
I perused through some of the php files and discovered at least two words that are spelled wrong, but that is a minor thing, I think? (It was in the comments...)
I get errors for missing files but I'm not sure why. They weren't included in the zip file...so I'm sorta lost.
I would be delighted to get this working but I wonder if the programming is just beyond my expertise?
What I did:
1. Downloaded the zip.
2. Extracted.
3. Uploaded
4. Changed the variables I could find.
5. Tried to find something that would work.
6. Nothing works.
7. Tried the java version
8. (See points 1-6 above)
9. Looked for a help forum
10. Nothing
11. Started thinking I don't really know what I'm doing
12. Came here for suggestions. (I used to do this a lot...)

Have you signed up for an API key?
It's also worth reading through their developer wiki [developer.stickam.com] it contains an introduction and a number of how-tos.

I'm so sorry for the apparent obscurity of this application and not explaining what it is.
I just discovered these guys this morning.
Background:
I was so thrilled with Google's new Gmail video chat...I just could not figure out why I couldn't add a "THIRD" person. I started searching and I found something called "Stickam" that seemed to work...a little bit.
PLEASE be careful how you spell it? I was embarrassed at the result for my error when I spelled it wrong.
The website was quite slow, though.
I discovered they were giving away their API for free....so I tried it... and failed miserably. I suppose it is because I don't know enough about API? I just don't know.
/Background
If I can get this working on my website...I would be happy. It seems to be a pretty good idea.
If Google comes out with a nearly similar product...I'd use it, but for right now, this seems to be the "best" I can find.
