Social media presenters at these conferences seemed to spend most of their time talking about Twitter despite other social apps having higher market share.
The real question is whether Twitter is ready to break out in the mass market. So far, that hasn't happened, particularly among younger users who flock to Facebook.
What do you think the chances are that Twitter will explode in 2009?
Once a bunch of people I knew started using it then the fun began. I'm not the most prolific poster, but I follow a lot of people and get a lot of info from it. It took me years to get to this point though. ;)
Yesterday I was trying to explain twitter to my girlfriend and the dilemma of if I should even bother trying it.
Not being a big computer person, her response to me was: "so everyone that uses twitter is a twit?".
Ya, I won't be using twitter...
