There are some problems with Apache on Vista, though. I've run into times where the server just crashes for no reason, actually while I was doing some tasks in WP now that I think about it.

You can certainly run MySQL and PHP on IIS though. I have Drupal sites on a Windows 2003 server, so I know that works.
