I've installed Wordpress on Windows servers, and it works fairly well. One major drawback is URL rewriting, which WP normally does using .htaccess on Apache. That, of course, won't work in a Windows environment and I haven't seen a comparable plugin that will.

There are some problems with Apache on Vista, though. I've run into times where the server just crashes for no reason, actually while I was doing some tasks in WP now that I think about it.

I wouldn't suggest serving a site from a Vista or XP machine though. (They're fine for development.) I was thinking of the Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 platforms.

You can certainly run MySQL and PHP on IIS though. I have Drupal sites on a Windows 2003 server, so I know that works.
