I have topics showing up in the SERPs for many years but in the past few months the IP is coming up on a lot of results instead of the URL.
So:
mysite.com/forum/viewtopic####.php
is now showing up as:
66.443.213.33/forum/viewtopic####.php (I made the IP up)
Nowhere do I have a link to the IP address for my site, so I'm curious why or how Google is pulling up the IP for threads and posts instead of the URL?
Just curious, not life or death...thanks!
This could be causing you problems with duplicate content and can dilute your PageRank. I'd redirect to your preferred domain (www or non-www) usage in the .htaccess file.
